Want to extend your reach? Grow your real estate business, or your title business? Facebook is a fantastic tool to do just that. With over 600 Million people on facebook it’s hard to find a tool as common, as useful as valuable as facebook. Hello, my name is Stephen Garner, co – founder of PRO-Found Marketing and former title rep for a national title insurance company in Phoenix Arizona. I spent 10 years marketing title, helping real estate professionals grow their business.
Hopefully you have realized the potential of facebook in your real estate business. Facebook for real estate is all about engagement and reach. Simply put, if used correctly – not as a launching pad for your latest listing or sale – facebook can be a great asset to your real estate business. Facebook, rather – social media is all about engagement. Without engagement you are talking – to yourself. Hopefully you have realized by now that only talking about business, business, business makes facebook a very boring place – for your friends. One of the things I advocate for is encouraging your “friends” to visit your HUB – your WordPress Real Estate website, this is where they can truly discover your value, your expertise, your personality and get this – search for properties for sale.
If I post something [of value] on my facebook page or business page and one of my friends comments on it or even better – shares it with their friends, it extends the reach of my message, and hopefully my value. One of the tools facebook recently released [March 2011] that does just that is called Facebook Comments.
This Facebook Social Plugin will install a Comment Box on your WordPress real estate website that will allow users to comment on your real estate website through facebook. The benefits of Facebook’s Comment Box in your real estate business include Social Relevance and Distribution.
Social Relevance: Comments Box uses social signals to surface the highest quality comments for each user. Comments are ordered to show users the most relevant comments from friends, friends of friends, and the most liked or active discussion threads, while comments marked as spam are hidden from view.
Distribution: Comments are easily shared with friends or with people who like your Page on Facebook. If a user leaves the “Post to Facebook” box checked when she posts a comment, a story appears on her friends’ News Feed indicating that she’s made a comment on your website, which will also link back to your site.
Friends and people who like the Page can then respond to the discussion by liking or replying to the comment directly in the News Feed on Facebook or in the Comments Box on your site. Threads stay synced across Facebook and on the Comments Box on your site regardless of where the comment was made.
Here is how to install the Facebook Comments Box into your WordPress Real Estate Website.
The Comments Box plugin is a plus for those of us constantly fighting comment spam on our WordPress Real estate websites. Ya know, the “I really liked the subject matter, I plan on bookmarking this subject and visiting often as I see you have passion on this topic“. Why? Because there is no option to make a comment anonymously. You must be logged into your facebook account to comment on a website using the Facebook Comment Box.
The facebook comment box also allows admins to Moderate your comments before publishing if you are so inclined to do so.
Question remains, how will Facebook Comments affect other comment systems like DISQUS. Will you switch from an existing comment system to the Facebook Comments Box on your WordPress Real Estate Website?
