Change. It happens. If there is one thing I know for sure it’s this: change is inevitable. Some people are scared of change. I love it. I love change in part because of what it creates. Change creates opportunity.
Some people would have you believe change occurs over night. These are probably the ones that came up on the short side of change. They just didn’t see it coming. In actuality, change is always happening. When it comes to change, there are those that spot change, that identify a shift and prepare for it. That’s me.
I spotted a change in my own personal behavior back in 2008. My daughter was 4, she was using video in her class room. When I had a need for information I was heading away from the yellow pages and towards the internet. Specifically, YouTube. I saw this change in my own behavior, knew how important it would be and invested my time, money and every resource I had to learn more about it. Fast forward to today, I have created over 1000 videos, I get calls and emails from real estate agents, small business owners, title reps and title companies from around the country. I no longer chase real estate agents, now they find me, when they have a need. They find me online. They find me because of my videos.
Of course, I am not the only one that identifies and acts upon change, although we are rare in the real estate space. The real estate industry is notoriously SLOW to adapt to change, but there are real estate agents out there that understand and embrace the power of video. Below are some of them. These are real estate agents from different parts of the country that saw the opportunity as I did and took advantage of it. These are some of the real estate agents that are leveraging video to differentiate themselves, get found online, build or reinforce a brand and get found online. These are some of the real estate agents emerging as real estate video rock stars. They are Rich Cederberg in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lucas Ramage in Calgary Canada, John Coley in Lake Martin, Alabama and Karen Highland in Frederick Maryland
You don’t need to have a crystal ball to see that video is going to play a huge role in your real estate marketing going forward. Sure, you could fight it, you could choose not to do it, not to learn how but at what cost? The consumer clearly prefers video.
