Take your REALTOR® hat off for a moment and put your consumer hat on… if you were searching for a Phoenix home for sale would you prefer to see 25 pictures of it, a lengthy article {wall of text} or a video? Nothing conveys information like video can. Video is visual, emotional, believable, cutting edge, uses more of our senses and video is fast. Add one more to this list that I can attest to myself as 50% of the leads this website gets comes from my videos: Video gets found online. You would think these benefits would have real estate agents flocking to YouTube to stake their virtual claim, and you would be wrong. Nationally, less that 2% of real estate agents are using video in their real estate business. Take a look at the short video below from Fox 10 news right here in Phoenix, Arizona.
Potential homebuyers turning to YouTube to shop for houses
There could be many reasons for Arizona REALTOR® reluctance to embrace real estate video : ignorance, scared, don’t know how, can’t afford it – some of the real estate agents I’ve talked to and met with thought their real estate videos had to be perfect – all of these are wrong. Video is easy, once you understand the fundamentals and the mindset behind it. It starts with equipment. Camera equipment, once ridiculiouslty expensive, is now insanely affordable. A quick search on Amazon will give you 5 HD cameras under $200 that can get the job done – rather easily. After the camera, audio is the next concern. I’ve learned that not many things will make a consumer cut and run from a real estate video like bad audio. There are hundreds of audio devices on Amazon right now that can be had for under $200. Wired microphones, USB condenser mic’s, wireless lavalier and so on. Next is a tripod. Not a normal tripod but a video tripod, one with a fluid head that allows for seamless pans and tilts, then it’s on to mindset and then content. {we teach all of these of course}
It took me years to get where I am today with my real estate videos. I started making real estate videos on my 13″ macbook’s webcam and moved up gradually to full frame DSLR’s. It took me years and THOUSANDS of dollars. I didn’t have anyone in my circle of influence to say; get this camera and this editing software, this computer and this tripod and this microphone, and stand like this and do this and and on and on. This is the cost of early adoption – of anything. I didn’t have anyone to help me – but you do. Grand Canyon Title, right here in Phoenix created a technology team to help real estate agents like you shift your business where consumers are – the Internet.
We teach classes and workshops on WordPress, Video, Video Editing and Optimization, Green Screen, Social Media for BUSINESS and more. We’ve even created Grand Canyon Title University to show you the HOW TO. In addition to teaching we shoot real estate videos – HD Property Tours, Screencasts, Green Screen and more. You can take advantage of other real estate agents perceptions about video: it is expensive, it is hard, it is time consuming, they are scared etc by teaming up with a team of dedicated and proven trainers and marketers for your real estate business – Grand Canyon Title Agency.
