Using Video In Real Estate – How To Use Video

Ways To Use Video Real EstateAre you using video in real estate? You will be. In fact – if you know me you know already that I say it like it is. At least how I see it anyway. Ready?

You will be using video in your real estate business or you will be out of it. The real estate business that is. Yep – I said it.

There are many ways you can use video in your real estate business – to communicate, convey value, build trust ad rapport and get found online. I’ve listed a few of them below.

Video For Communication

Video is going to be the equivalent of what email is today. Can you imagine trying to communicate with consumers without using email? What do you think would happen if a buyer said “send me and email” and you couldn’t? Let me tell you – they would find another real estate agent is what would happen. Ya know why? Because it’s not about YOU, its about THEM. You not being able to use email, hurts them. Well, you not using video in your real estate business – hurts them as well.

Consumers prefer video. You prefer video. Trust me. You can argue with me and this post all you want but it won’t change the fact that video says more than a picture can – or EVER will be able to. There are a ton of benefits of video in real estate. Below are some ways you can use video in your real estate business.

Real Estate Video Tours

When you take a new listing, you enter it into your local MLS and describe it. You don’t just describe it – you really describe it. “Honey Stop The Car!” “Don’t Miss This!” “This Property Won’t Last!”. While all of these descriptions make a BOLD claim, they don’t SHOW the consumer anything. You can use video in your real estate business to SHOW consumers what is so special about your listing. Below is a playlist of some videos I shot for our clients at Grand Canyon Title.

Video Your Real Estate Process

Consumers want to see video. Of homes or areas or subdivisions or of YOU. But that is not the only ways you can use video in real estate. Your WHOLE process – listing presentation, buyers presentation, market reports, explanation of your purchase contract, SPDS, CLUE, LSR, LSU, Comps – everything you do can be explained – on video.

Overcome Objections With Real Estate Video

Think about that for a moment. It’s happened to you before. You have started writing a purchase contract with your buyers only to have them ask questions about a section of the contract – “What does that mean?” they might say. While you tried to explain it, at the end of the day – you are a salesperson and some consumers will want to TRUST but VERIFY. Now they want to ask their attorney or mom, dad – whoever. Regardless, your sales process was just pushed back because of an objection you didn’t even know was there. But what if you had recorded a screencast video of your purchase contract, of the common objections or questions your past clients asked you? What if you sent that video to all of your buyers BEFORE you met them? Powerful huh. These kinds of videos also build trust and rapport.

Not All Real Estate Video The Same

But all video is not created the same. You will need to learn how to make videos that consumers want to see, not what you want to make. That means making videos of VALUE. Why? Because it’s not about you – remember. While a video of your team or your production, designations, real estate brokerage etc may be valuable to you, it is likely worthless to the consumer. Who cares about you? Let me tell you – consumers won’t care about you until you give them a reason to. That means your videos need to help consumers gather information or solve a problem. These are the two main reasons consumers turn to the Internet. In my experience, the best videos {real estate or otherwise} are made with a target market in mind and created to their perspective.

Build Value With Real Estate Video

Video is not the future, it is there here and now. Learn how to use video in your real estate business or risk being irrelevant. It doesn’t matter who you think you are. How awesome you think you are. How awesome you think your real estate brokerage is. It only matters what consumers think about those things. Brand and value are in the eyes of the consumer. Video can help you get found online and build your value. Now you just need to learn the HOW TO. If you are in Phoenix, you can come to our real estate marketing classes. You will learn about camera equipment, editing and screencast software, topics, technique and more. We hope to see you there. Your business can’t afford to not be.
