Real Estate Video: YouTube Ranking Factors

YouTube Ranking Factors

Sometimes it seems like not a day goes by without a real estate agent asking me about YouTube Ranking Factors as it relates to real estate video. Well, they don’t exactly say “what are YouTube’s ranking factors?”, they want to know how to get a real estate video on the 1st page of Google, YouTube and/or YouTube’s Related Search. In our Phoenix real estate marketing classes, we show them exactly how to do it.

I find that real estate agents really respond well to our real estate marketing classes. In my experience, they are sick and tired of going to real estate marketing classes and learning WHY they should be on the 1st page of Google, WHY they should be using WordPress, WHY they should be using real estate video, WHY they should have an indexable IDX, WHY they should be using facebook, Twitter, StumpleUpon, YouTube or Pinterest for real estate. Not many things will frustrate a real estate agent more that telling them WHY they should be doing something and not showing them the HOW TO.

This is where we come in. WE is Grand Canyon Title Agency in Phoenix, Arizona. Unlike our competitors we have assembled a team of real estate trainers that teach real estate agents in Phoenix exactly HOW to do it – a road map if you will. We support and assist our sales team. One trainers specialty is WordPress, another’s is Graphic Design, another’s is Mobile Technology/Marketing, another’s is SEO and SEM. Mine, as you may have guessed is real estate video. Screen cast, Green Screen, HD Real Estate Tours and more

In the world of SEO or search engine optimization there are really 2 factors that need to be addressed to get a website found online. They are On Page and Off Page SEO. On Page is what you can do yourself on your real estate website. Content, Keywords, Internal Linking Structure, Metadata etc. Off Page is essentially back links and other optimization techniques that take place off of your real estate website. Content Syndication, RSS Feeds, Networking. Back links are the web’s currency, at least that is what I like to call it. In the world of real estate video optimization or YouTube ranking factors there are 2 factors as well: Content and Engagement.

Below are some of YouTube’s ranking factors. Much like SEO, there are some aspects that you can control and others that are up to your audience or community. Yes, YouTube is a community – one that can often make or break your  real estate video optimization goals. Getting a video on the 1st page of Google for the keywords your ideal client would look for when they have a need for your product or service is not done by accident. Below are some of YouTube’s Ranking Factors, at least the ones that I have addressed to get my real estate videos on Page 1 of the #1 and #2 search engines in the world – Google and YouTube.

Real Estate Video YouTube Ranking Factors

Real Estate Video Ranking Factors you control. Content

Content. Content is what your real estate video is about. One of the principles of our video marketing classes is value. Your real estate video’s need to be of value to your ideal client. You need to make real estate videos consumers want to watch, not necessarily what you want to make. This means getting in the shoes or mindset of your ideal client. What would they look for? In my experience, the best real estate videos provide valuable information or solve a problem.

Other YouTube ranking factors you control include:

  • Tags
  • Titles
  • Description
  • Transcription
  • Delivery {Engagement}
  • Channel Authority

Real Estate Video Ranking Factors – Engagement factors

There are other factors at play as well, factors that you do not control but are actually more important than the ones that you do. They include:

  • Views
  • Links
  • Comments
  • Video Comments
  • Shares
  • Embeds
  • Thumbs UP
  • Favorites

No one knows exactly what Google or YouTube’s algorithm is, all we know is that it continues to change – Panda and Penguin etc.  – for one reason: To provide the best, most relevant content consumers are looking for. The most important factor in my opinion is real estate content. Content is what consumers are looking for when they ask Google or YouTube  a question. Content is homes for sale, short sale vs foreclosure, the buying or selling process, the AZ Purchase Contract, FHA vs VA vs Conventional mortgages. Content is how to choose the right home, real estate agent, contractor, loan officer, title company, pool guy – content is everywhere IF you know where and how to look for it.

I know YouTube’s ranking factors can be a little overwhelming, I find that if you create great real estate content, the engagement factors will be there. You will get more subscribers, likes, thumbs up, comments, and views. You will also get more leads. 50% of all my leads come from my real estate videos. Video gives me a face. There are many benefits to using video in real estate.
