Benefits Of Video In Real Estate

As the Director of Sales Technology for Grand Canyon Title in Phoenix, my job is to help Phoenix real estate professionals leverage technologies to grow their real estate business. While the “staples” of the real estate industry are not going away: postcards, flyers, magnets, calendars, personal notes, branded pens and pads, bill boards, print real estate books, cold calls, SPAM emails etc. technology has made them less effective while making them, in many cases, cost prohibitive. Do you know how much a first class stamp costs today?

I teach real estate professionals HOW to leverage real estate sales technologies like WordPress {self hosted}, Indexable IDX, Social Media, Video and more to get found online by their ideal client. Today, 98% of consumers start their home search on the Internet, this is where savvy real estate agents need to be. When I talk about sales technologies with real estate agents one of the questions I routinely get is “who is doing this?”. By “who” they mean, what real estate agents.

Modeling Gone Bad

Real estate agents “model” everything. They are trained on it from the moment the first broker tries to recruit them out of real estate school… “do you know {insert top producer name here}, you can be like him or her if you join my real estate company!” Modeling is what real estate agents understand. Find someone doing it right and then model it.

Modeling works IF there are real estate professionals doing it right, but it can be devastating if the real estate agent being modeled is doing it wrong.

Video Statistics

According to NAR, 73% of sellers say they would list with a real estate agent that would use video to market their property. Yet, nationally, less that 2% of real estate agents use video and out of that 2% many are doing it wrong. The best camera, editing, lighting, balancing and/or stabilizing equipment in the world is useless if your message sucks. It starts with creating a message a consumer would look for and find value in coupled with a strong call to action to DO SOMETHING. Real estate professionals need to create content consumers want to see not what the agent wants to make. There is a HUGE difference. No one will care about you or your value until you give them a reason to. The longer a consumer is on your real estate website the more likely it is you will convert them into a lead. Look at the statistics below, websites with video are sticky.

  • The average visitor spends 48 seconds on a website

Real Estate Video Examples

Look, it’s no secret that everything is not just heading towards the internet but that it is already there. I got sick and tired of answering real estate agents question “who is doing this” with “uh, no one around here” so I started helping clients of Grand Canyon Title learn, leverage and incorporate video into their value propositions. There are many benefits of video in real estate. Below are some video examples that you can include in your real estate marketing. It doesn’t have to be you in front of the camera you know, it can easily be an interview of an expert, say a real estate attorney, a screencast, a keynote or powerpoint video, a video tour of your latest listing or subdivision = it could be anything you would normally speak or communicate with text.

Video is not the future of your real estate busines, it is the present and it will only get bigger. Consumers demand video. Why look at 20 crappy photos taken with an iPhone when you can watch a video? If you are a real estate professional in Phoenix that wants to learn HOW to leverage sales technologies like WordPress, Indexable IDX, Video, SEO, PPC and more in your business please fill out the form below.
