Real Estate Marketing has changed. The days of slamming a neighborhood or geographic area with your corny, worthless – no value flyers and postcards are over. At least they should be. If this is your reality go ahead and skip this article and video and head straight down to the form below cause you need help! Consumers simply do not respond well to direct mail anymore. Do you? I know I don’t. I don’t walk down to my mailbox to get the mail and skip home with excitement because I got some real estate agents flyer, sports schedule, magnet or postcard. Today, 94% of consumers start their home search online. But this is buyers. What about sellers? What do home sellers want? What do home sellers look for online? You know how to attract home buyers online, get a WordPress Real Estate Website and fill it with unique, dynamic, engaging and most of all valuable content home buyers would look for combined with The Best IDX available and consumers will find your website. But what about home sellers? Marketing to home sellers has not been easy, the same rules that apply to online marketing home buyers is different when marketing to home sellers. Or is it?

I came across a survey sponsored by the California Association of REALTORS or CAR last month. It is from 2008 and it offers a wealth of information. CAR [anonymously] asked home sellers questions about the home selling process. What they look for in a REALTOR, HOW Home Sellers found their real estate agent, what was important in their agent selection, how many real estate agents they interviewed and the big daddy of them all [in my opinion] – what was the most important factor when selecting a real estate agent. If you are one of those real estate agents that thinks they know it all, watch the video below because you are about to be school’d and it’s not me teaching class this time, it’s your ideal client – home sellers.


So, be honest, did you know before you watched this video what home sellers found value in? If you are one of those agents that believes this video is not valid because it’s related to California home sellers and you are in Arizona or Florida or Texas – STOP – we are not that different. If your complaint is that the survey is from 2008, relax – the numbers are even higher now and they are not in your favor. Once you open your mind and look for information about what home buyers and home sellers find value in or what they would look for on the Internet when they had a need, you will become much better at home seller marketing.
