How To Choose A Mesa Real Estate Agent

Mesa Real Estate AgentYou are buying or selling your Mesa area home. Certainly one of the largest financial transactions any of us will make. More likely than not a Mesa real estate agent will play a vital role in helping you achieve your goal of finding your dream home or selling your current home. This begs the question: How To Choose A Mesa Real Estate Agent? My name is Stephen Garner. I’ve spent over 10 years in the escrow and title industry up close with many of the best Mesa real estate agents around. This has given me a unique perspective on what a good Mesa REALTOR looks like and how to choose one. Below are some qualities that I would look for in a Mesa real estate agent or Mesa REALTOR if I was buying or selling a Mesa, Arizona home.

I would like you to notice that you “found” this website. This important to note because real estate marketing has changed. The old days of real estate agents saturating a Mesa neighborhood with direct mail or even advertising in expensive Mesa real estate publications is less effective today. Real Estate consumers [like you] have shifted their behavior – online. In fact, over 94% of home buyers will begin their home buying or information gathering process online just like you did. You found this website because I knew how to position it so that you would find it – when you needed it. Can you see how powerful that would be if you were selling your Mesa home? If you are considering selling your Mesa home, It is this kind of targeted real estate marketing that you will need to get it found online by the right buyer and the right time.

Below is what I, Stephen Garner “MyTitleGuy” a seasoned real estate industry professional would look for in a Mesa REALTOR and most importantly – WHY.

I would look for a Mesa Real Estate Agent That Has The Following Qualities:

Knowledgeable

I want a Mesa real estate agent that knows their way around the real estate purchase contract as well as how to negotiate. Just because a Mesa real estate agent is licensed does not necessarily mean they understand either. I also want a Mesa real estate agent that specializes in the area of Mesa I am buying or selling in. A residential Mesa real estate agent for a residential property, A commercial Mesa real estate agent for the purchase or sale of a commercial property and a Mesa short sale real estate agent for a short sale property etc.

Familiar with the local market

I would also want a Mesa REALTOR that is familiar with my neighborhood and local Mesa market conditions. Notice I emphasized “local” market conditions. Listing and sales prices fluctuate significantly in two areas as close as 10 miles apart.

Full Time Real Estate Agent

Real estate sales isn’t a part time job. I would want my Mesa real estate agent to be available when I or a potential home buyer is. I wouldn’t want to wait until my Mesa REALTOR gets off his/her “other” job before they could answer a potential buyer inquiry or offer. In my experience, this is where a Mesa real estate agent with a team can be important – team members can cover for each other, this way I can get the service I believe I deserve.

Honest

I want a Mesa real estate agent that is going to tell me the truth – whether I want to hear it or not. “Yes, Stephen, that dark brown paint is ugly and needs to go” or if I am getting my home ready for the market “Stephen, the moose head in the living room could turn off some buyers”.

Communication

You would think communication would be one of the basics to be a Mesa real estate agent but it is not always present. Some real estate agents are not very good at returning emails or phone calls. The number 1 complaint in the real estate industry is lack of communication. Real estate sales is a service, like most services, it relies heavily upon communication – good communication. I want my Mesa real estate agent to communicate with me on a regular basis in the method and manner I prefer – email, phone, text message, facebook, twitter – whatever that method may be. Because buying or selling a home can be stressful, I would also like a regular schedule of check in’s. Trust me, doing so will cut down on your anxiety.

Licensed Real Estate Agent

I want my Mesa real estate agent to not only be licensed, but in good standing. Meaning – NO complaints from past clients. Google will be beneficial here. Go to Google, enter the name of the Mesa real estate agent in quotes[“”] like so: “MyTitleGuy” doing this will deliver search results related to that particular Mesa real estate agent and if you are lucky, will also show you what other consumers have to say about him/her – Good and Bad.

Savvy with Technology

A Mesa REALTOR savvy with technology is a non negotiable for me. I would require a Mesa REALTOR that has a strong, website, that understands how to leverage the power of search engines like Yahoo, Bing, Google and YouTube. Social media tools like facebook and twitter are valuable as well but not as important as getting my home found online. Remember, over 94% of real estate consumers start their home search on the Internet, I want my Mesa real estate agent to know HOW to get my home to stand out on the Internet – where the majority of buyers are.

Buying or Selling a Mesa home effectively in today’s competitive real estate market includes many factors. Visibility on the Internet should be one of your top priorities for anyone selling a Mesa home. Some Mesa real estate agents may tell you they have significant visibility online. Ask them to prove it. Have the Mesa real estate agent SHOW YOU HOW AND WHERE their real estate listings and/or marketing is at the top of search engines like . I knew what you were looking for because you found my article. A technologically savvy Mesa real estate agent will know how to attract a buyer to your home – online. Chances are, the buyer for your Mesa home is likely to come from the Internet.
